Who We Are

Founded by teenager Tess Eggeson in 2024, Rock of Ages Music is a non-profit dedicated to building bridges across generations through music.

What We Do

Rock of Ages Music blends musical performance and performance-based music instruction with teen musicians playing live music for retirement-age community members and then letting them join in the fun by trying their hand at instruments, too.

We currently use guitars and ukeleles with plans to incorporate small drums and keyboards in the future.

We play at retirement homes, hospice centers, assisted living communities, or for community groups (book clubs, church groups, clubs, veterans organizations).

What We Believe

When people enjoy and play music together, they can better relate to, learn from, and talk to each other, regardless of their differences.

When people teach someone else how to do something they love — even just a few chords on a guitar — it develops their abilities as a student and teacher.

As we all age, it’s important to stretch ourselves by learning new things or revisiting something we once loved to do.
